This is how we handle it if the brief is to make a female subject in a business portrait look a little thinner and younger. Work has been done on / around the eyes. The jowls have been lifted, facial fat reduced and volume has been added to the hair. Posture correction along with some neck lengthening and teeth whitening has made the subject look more confident

Portrait enhancement

This is how we handle it if the brief is only to enhance the portrait somewhat. The retouching has been done with a very gentle hand and care has been taken to do only the things the subject could have done herself in real life and turned out looking a lot better. We first added volume to the subject’s thinning hair and it made a big difference, instantly making her look younger. Next, we retouched the crowsfeet and undereye area. There are skin serums available that do the same job. We also extended the eyebrow. Again, that’s something that could have been achieved with an eyebrow pencil. The harsh shadows created by smile folds were lightened, something that can be done with some foundation. Lastly, the beginnings of a double chin were airbrushed. So the resultant photo is really only a better version of the original photo.

Portrait enhancement with make up

This is a demonstration of what we can do to glam up a subject in a no-makeup photo . Firstly, the shadow around the subject’s face has been removed. The skin has been gently airbrushed, teeth whitened and makeup has been applied. The addition of a diamond drop earring, as a final touch, made a big difference.

Portrait enhancement – gummy smile correction

This is an example of portrait enhancement with a special component of gummy smile correction. This edit requires a very skilled hand and an understanding of teeth aesthetics and smile aesthetics. Apart from fixing the gummy teeth problem, the portrait has been enhanced otherwise with exposure correction, eye brightening and teeth whitening.

Change color – garment photo editing
